Fire in the Mourne Mountains May 2011

BBC report on Mourne fire and cleanup by bacteria

In 2011 and 2012 our study of the Mournes after a major fire in the dry upland Heath of the Annalong Valley. In may 2012 the BBC reported on the aftermath and the slow recovery of the site. The Eastern Mournes are a protected area of special scientific interest.
